Principal

I am very honored to have the opportunity to serve as the principal of such a wonderful school and I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that has been established in this school community.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Mars Hill University and a Masters Degree in School Administration (MSA) from Western Carolina University.

I began my career in education as a classroom teacher at North Buncombe Elementary before moving to Haw Creek and Hominy Valley Elementary schools as Assistant Principal. Years later I returned to the North Buncombe District for my first principalship at Barnardsville Elementary. I spent five years as principal at Barnardsville Elementary and seven years as principal at Weaverville Elementary before circling back home - North Buncombe Elementary School!

At NBES, we have an outstanding staff, wonderful students and supportive parents! Our staff is committed to the success of our students and they work diligently to provide quality and engaging instruction.

Our mission is, 'Growing, Learning, Succeeding' and we teach students to follow the H.A.W.K.S. expectations through our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program.

Assistant Principal

Hi everyone,

I'm thrilled to be the Assistant Principal at North Buncombe Elementary School (NBES)! I'm looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families that make this such a special community.

Throughout my career in education, I've worn many hats – from teaching K-6 as a regular and special education teacher to serving as a behavior specialist in Buncombe County Schools. I obtained my Master's in School Leadership through WCU's Principal Fellowship Program and served as an Assistant Principal at Estes Elementary for two years.

On a personal note, my husband and I are raising two amazing young ladies, Janayah and Emma. Janayah is passionate about becoming a future psychologist and Emma is curious about caring for animals. We may have a future veterinarian!

I'm eager to collaborate with everyone at NBES and the community to continue building a school where every student thrives. I'm committed to supporting our mission of "Growing, Learning and Succeeding."
