At North Buncombe Elementary:
Fourth grade integrates writing across the curriculum, emphasizing informational and persuasive writing, and composing narratives.
Exciting field trips include a day trip to Raleigh, NC to explore our state capital, the Natural History Museum, and the NC Science Museum. Fourth grade also visits the local Colburn Museum for classes on grade level science curriculum.
Students explore non-fiction literature using exciting comprehension reading strategies.
In math, students will develop important critical thinking skills through interesting and authentic problem solving. They will engage in a fun multiplication competition, perform science experiments with light to understand angles, and create projects using fractions and decimals.
Our school is developing an amazing new science lab where fourth grade classes will go to experience hands on learning through experiments.
