        Welcome to Our Classroom

Welcome to Fourth Grade!
Each day I will work with my students to encourage them academically and socially to be the best student they  can possibly be and create experiences to challenge and develop skills  life-long learning.

Throughout the years I have had many opportunities to work within the schools of Buncombe County. My teaching career at North Buncombe Elementary School started in the fall of 2002.

I taught third grade and the next year moved to fourth grade.  We will have a great time growing, learning and succeeding.  Some of the highlights of fourth grade are studying North Carolina history, taking a field trip to Raleigh,  and the end of the year picnic for all fourth graders.

I hope that this website of information will help to make your transition into fourth grade a smooth one. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. The communication between the student, parent, and teacher forms a triple bond that creates a wonderful learning relationship.

Now a little about my family! My husband Keith is an engineer and attended Clemson University. We enjoy spending time with our children, going to sporting events, and traveling. In the last few years we traveled to Yellowstone National Park, The Grand Tetons, and  Glacier National Park.  Keith likes camping and canoeing in the boundary waters of Minnesota. Our new adventure is going on historic train rides.

I attended Mars Hill College to get my teaching degree while I worked part-time as a teacher assistant after my children were in school. It was a challenge but the rewards are tremendous. At my church I work with the children's ministry. My hobbies are card- making, crafts, and school.  We just finished building on to our log cabin. It is the most beautiful place to live among the treetops with an amazing view of the river We like to make at least one trip to the beach each summer and just relax and prepare for the year ahead.

My children are Kristen Wells, Hannah Franklin, and Byron Webb.
Kristen went to Cumberland College in Kentucky, played college basketball, and teaches math at North Buncombe Middle School.   She was voted Teacher of the Year at NBMS 2012. Kristen is married to Jarrod Wells and are  building their first house. Our grand-daughter Adlee Grace will be 2 years old in December. We love spending time with her as much as possible.
Hannah attended Erskine College in South Carolina. She played college softball and is now a certified public accountant. Hannah is married to Jason Franklin. They enjoy traveling, golfing, and their new dog Caddie.
Byron graduated from Clemson with a civil engineering degree. He currently works in Raleigh as a structural engineer. His work related activities are climbing cell towers and also being certified to rescue on them. I like it when he is on the ground!! Byron also likes to golf and canoe.

They also like to travel.  Fun Fun Fun!
