EC Teacher:
Laurie Campbell

North Buncombe Elementary School

Modular 9

Mrs. Laurie Campbell:  I have been teaching at North Buncombe since 2015. I am currently one of two resource teachers for grades K-4 primarily working with third and fourth graders. I have experience teaching in a variety of settings and across many grade levels (K through 12) with EC students. I have also taught in the general education classrooms both kindergarten and second grade. I began my teaching career in Virginia where I attended college and graduate school. I next taught in NJ, before moving to awesome Asheville. I taught 6 years in Buncombe County, at West Buncombe Elementary then moved to the Nashville Tennessee area to be with family before returning to Asheville. I have been teaching 37 years and just love the children. I received a B.S. in Elementary Education with endorsements in Learning Disabilities K-12 and Reading  K-12 from Averett University.  I received my M.Ed. in Learning Disabilities/Behavioral Disorders from Lynchburg College in Va. My family is from Canada so I love vacationing there and visiting with my large extended family. I love to read, golf, and travel. I attend St. Eugene's Catholic Church where I am active in the nursery ministry.
I have been married to my husband for 35 years, and have a beautiful 26 year old daughter. I also have two funny dogs, a Scottie and a Blue Tick.
