Welcome to our Classroom!
North Buncombe Elementary School
Mrs. Laurie Campbell: This is my third year teaching at North Buncombe Elementary School. I teach the Intensive Intervention classroom working with children in grades K - 4. I have taught this age group in self-contained and resource settings, as well as in the regular kindergarten and second grade classrooms. I began my teaching career in Virginia where I attended college and graduate school. I next taught in NJ, before moving to awesome Asheville. I taught 6 years in Buncombe County, then moved to the Nashville Tennessee area to be with family before returning to Asheville. I have been teaching many years and just love the children.
I received a B.S. in Elementary Education with endorsements in Learning Disabilities K-12 and Reading K-12 from Averett University. I received my M.Ed. in Learning Disabilities/Behavioral Disorders from Lynchburg College in Va.
My family is from Canada so I love vacationing there and visiting with my large extended family. I love to read, golf, and travel.
I have been married to my husband for 31 years, and have a beautiful 22 year old daughter. I also have two funny dogs, a Scottie and a Blue Tick.
Mrs: Jennifer: I have worked at NBES since 2014. I have really enjoyed working with all the kids and watching them grow. It is definitely a blessing! I currently have my Associates of Arts Degree and I am going to school to get my Teaching License in Elementary Education. My husband and I grew up in this area and I actually attended Elementary School here! We have a Golden Retriever named Shadow who is a big teddy bear. We attend Georgetown Baptist Church and are very active in the ministries there. I'm looking forward to working with your kids again!
